My friend Merideth is due to have a baby boy in a couple of weeks, and I wanted to make something special for the baby's room. Merideth chose a bird theme for the room, and when I found this bird mobile project in One Yard Wonders, I knew it was the perfect thing.
I finally got to give it to her at her baby shower yesterday, along with this book:
Hands: Growing Up to Be an Artist by Lois Ehlert - I've always loved Lois Ehlert's illustrations, and this is an absolutely beautiful book about how her creativity was inspired and encouraged by her parents. I think it's a perfect gift from me to this new baby - I hope he grows up to express himself in all the ways that come naturally to him, and that his parents inspire in him.
I just can't wait for him to get here!
