This is Awesome: The Dancing Cop

Providence residents know that one unmistakable mark of the Holiday Season, right along with A Christmas Carol at Trinity Rep and ice skating at the rink downtown, is the appearance of the one and only Dancing Cop.

I love to see how people can be creative in the most unexpected ways, and Tony Lepore is pretty unexpected. He's a guy who decided to bend the rules, get creative with a boring task at work, and has now entertained the people of Providence for over 25 years.

CBS Sunday Morning did a story on him last year - this is SO worth four minutes of your time:

The Dancing Cop kicks off his holiday tour TODAY at Weybosset & Dorrance from 12-1:30pm.

And here's the full list of his holiday schedule:

December 10 & 13, 12pm, Weybosset & Dorrance

December 14 & 15, 12pm, Broad & Sackett

December 16 & 17, 12pm, Smith Street & Academy Avenue

December 20 & 21, 12pm, Thayer & Angel

December 22 & 23, 12pm, De Pasquale Square & Atwells Avenue

December 24, 12pm, Dorrance & Westminister (this one's special because he'll be wearing a santa hat!)

Be sure to visit his website www.providencedancingcop.com to learn more about Tony and snag some Dancing Cop gear!
