Striped Experiment

Last Thursday was New Urban Arts' annual fundraiser, and this was my contribution - a striped baby quilt, made from the leftover scraps from my queen sized striped quilt.  It's a wonderful cause, and I was so glad to be a part of it!

This was a fun experiment - I designed the quilt based on the pattern of the tiles on my bathroom floor, tried out quilting in diagonal squares, and also used pieced stripes for the bias binding.  It has a wonderful new home on the wall of Alice's apartment, the awesome winner!

To donate to New Urban Arts, visit this link.  You'll be supporting a vibrant and generous community committed to helping both youth and emerging artists develop their voices and leadership skills.  It has helped me become a better artist and a better educator, all while making beautiful art with students and having wonderful and silly conversations!
