A few months ago, I donated a custom apron to New Urban Arts' annual campaign silent auction. The lucky winner was Maria! We met to discuss what she envisioned - and as it turns out she wanted an apron for her nephew-in-law's birthday this month.
Apparently, he's a creative type himself, and loves to travel to the Caribbean. So we decided that a hawaiian men's button-up shirt transformed into an apron would be perfect!
Ian was kind enough to be my model for this project!
The front pocket is monogrammed with her nephew's initials in a contrasting orange plaid shirt.
Grillin' with style!
Thanks for a great custom project, Maria!

Hi Carole Ann,
ReplyDeleteI am the proud recipient of this piece, and I love it. It is perfectly me, and I'm looking forward to cooking with it all winter long to remind me of the warmer climes. Many thanks.

Tom! It's so wonderful to hear from you! I'm so glad that you love the apron - it was really fun to make just for you, even though we've never met. You have a very wonderful aunt!
