Field Trip: MQX East

On Saturday my friend Alice and I went to the Machine Quilters Expo East at the RI Convention Center.

It.  Was.  Awesome.  I've never felt so nerdy/overwhelmed/excited all at once.

Here are some photos:

Wholecloth Quilting - this is new to me.  WOAH.

This was the kicker that we just so insane: a quilt of a quilt expo.  Whaaaat?  There's even a man looking at his watch!

While we were there, Alice turned to me and said: "Can I tell you something?  I think you've found your calling."

So much inspiration, so many gadgets, so much fabric.  Sensory overload.  Awesome.

  1. Sounds like a great time! I love whole cloth quilts, they are so amazing. We have some pretty impressive ones at the museum and I marvel at them every time. Ultimately though, 1820-1870 pieced quilts are my favorite. I'm always surprised at the crazy fabrics they had!
