Inventory!

It's been nose to the grindstone, banging out inventory in the past two weeks. The art festival is coming up so soon, and I'm having fun figuring out all the details!

Started fusing plastic bags to make wallets - it takes a long time! But they look really neat. I love how they're all so different.

I'm up to almost 40 milk carton coin purses. It's hard because I have no idea of how many I'll need to bring. But my coworkers at the Museum keep bringing me cute cartons, so I just keep making purses!

The tuna can pin cushions are the only thing completely done. I finished these up tonight. So cute!

For Adrienne's birthday I made her an apron. This will be great for holding the $ during the sale. I tried to capture her taste and my style in one - got the earth tones for her, and the "connect the dots" for me.

And for Sara's birthday, I finally made her a reversible purse. With the way that the handles are different sizes and hook together, I think this will be perfect for the subway in nyc. And the fabrics are from the Country Treasures quilt shop in my hometown - I love the vintage-y cuteness.

Well, back to inventory. Happy crafting!

Happy Mother's Day!

I sent Mom a package this week that included...

A fabric flower bowl from this tutorial.

And a fabric flower corsage from this tutorial. It's a lily with leaves and a carnation. It's thanks to my mom and my grandmothers that I'm so crafty!

Then today I got to work on lots of gifts for upcoming special events! Brittany's graduation and birthday gifts are complete!

In addition to the crochet needle case from last week, I made her a wallet (you know, to hold all of that money that recent college grads earn!). I improved upon the pattern so that the upper pocket goes all the way across the wallet and can hold money. I'm a little jealous...this wallet is way better than the one I'm carrying around!

And a house-warming gift for Merideth! I hope her husband Jesse won't mind that I didn't make him a matching one...I'm thinking that he'll be happy enough to benefit from all the cooking and baking this apron will hopefully inspire her to do! I love how tall this one is (it's a full fat quarter). And this is my first time using ric-rac. So cute! This will be hard to let go of... Maybe I'll make myself a matching one...

Made one other thing that I can't post up yet...have to wait for that holiday to arrive!

BUT the BIG NEWS is that Adrienne and I were accepted into the Providence Art Festival! We had a crafternoon this weekend to get crackin' on inventory and start trying to figure out all of the things that we need to do before the sale on June 13th! (So soon!) There are TONS of online resources about this kind of thing...it's a bit overwhelming. But so exciting - it will be a great learning experience and lots of fun. I'm sure I'll be posting lots about this in the weeks to come. Until then, I'll be crafting my little heart out getting ready!

(I must be feeling spunky today - there are a million exclamation points in this post!)

Happy crafting!

Spring!

It's definitely spring here in Providence, and I am love, love, loving it. I've been out for lots of walks lately, visiting the flowers, and feeling the crafty inspiration.

My special friend brought me some very springy flowers that are on my table!

And on one of my walks, I discovered that the lilacs are out. Hands-down, my favorite smell in the world. But the quinoa salad I made smells pretty good too...

I have a list of things to make - many birthdays and special occasions coming up. One of which is next weekend, so I can't post any photos of that stuff until next week. BUT I did get a head start on a graduation present for Brittany - a case for her crochet needles. For some reason, these pinwheel-y flowers really reminded me of her.

It rolls up into a nice little pouch. I don't know much about crochet needles, so I just kind of made this one up. I hope her needles fit!

Adrienne and I also put in an application this week for the Providence Art Festival in June. We'll hear in the next couple of days if we got in...then we'll have to be crafty crazy for the next month getting things ready!

Happy crafting!
