Contest & Giveaway!

I posted yesterday about how I've been seeing inspiration for quilting everywhere.  Now it's YOUR turn!

The Challenge:
Send me a photograph, or leave a comment below with a color scheme, a work of art, a poem, a song, shapes, words - whatever you think could be the inspiration for a mini quilt (about 40" x 40" or smaller).  A mini quilt can be used for many things - it could be a baby blanket, lap quilt, a wall hanging, a table runner, a playmat, pillow, placemat...

The Prize:
I'll choose the winner based on the entry that speaks most to me, and I'll create a mini quilt inspired by and for the winner!  Contest ends on Friday, April 1st at 5:00PM EST.  The winner will be notified and posted the following week.

This is an opportunity for me to expand my quilting skills and to gain more experience in planning and conceptualizing mini quilts.  It's also a chance for me to give back to my readers!  A win-win!  I hope that you'll enter - to help me expand my learning and to maybe win something that you helped to create!

Ideas...
I found some inspiration on this type of challenge here - maybe it will give you some ideas.
And to see lots of amazing mini quilts to think about all that's possible, check out my post from last week on the Tokyo Quilt Festival.

Good luck and I can't wait to see what you come up with!

I love fast moving rivers, round shapes, the poem
"A Skeleton in Armor" by Longfellow, the song "On the Turning Away" by Pink Floyd and paintings of 19th century sailing ships with icebergs.
What can you do for me?

  5. Well, I would love to see something boy themed. I have a nearly 3 year old little guy who is in love with all things wheeled...cars, trains, tractors, Macks, etc. He loves to be funny and make people laugh. His favorite color is green and his favorite letter is B. He loves to sew number 2 on my machine :-)

I'd love to see what you could create!
